Sleepy Goblin

Charlie is a common lad from England, he goes to school, work as a bartender at weekends, has a girlfriend and plays guitar in a band, this sound like a healthy and good lifestyle, but for Charlie it's not. Charlie suffers from Insomnia, which means he have troubles falling asleep. To no make this into a story for children, I'll stop writing about Charlie now, but if you haven't guessed it already todays Beetroot is going to be about sleep. So, what is sleep? Sleep is when your body recovers energy from you being awake all day doing things like walking, having fun with friends and so on. If you though have troubles sleeping? What happens when your body run out energy and there's no more coal to burn in your furnace? (minecraft reference) Well, from personal experiences I can say that your body doesn't work as it should normally, but it does work, I can still go to school, still go the gym and do all my daily routines, but only with half the effort, excersices that you normally can do without killing yourself become more painful, harder to do and the ache you get the day after, it will hurt, hurt more than it should. Sleep is important, it is needed and not enough appriciated, though one advantage you get when you can't sleep is that you will see when the goblins come and you have to prevent them from stealing your shoes! So to all you shoeless, well rested people out there, good night, and don't let the goblins bite.

Keep Your Cheek Still.

The other day I was watching my one of my favourite movies, Never Back Down 2. For you who don't know it is a movie about amature mma fighters competeing in a contest against a psycopath, anyway that movie made me think about how important it is to stand up for yourself, I know a lot of people have talked about this a lot, but my point with writing this is to explain exactly why it is important, when I was a kid I didn't always do that, and for some people I was a really easy target, we all know how kids think it's so fun to mock and bully others, lucky for me I've never been a person with a weak personality, I couldn't care for their insults and mockery, but for people who do, as the title of the movie sais, never back down, today I've learned to protect myself, both physically and mentally, mostly mentally since I've noticed that it is the psychological mockery which  hurt the most. I'm not encouraging people to use violence, the best defense are words, though you should never back down, I promise bullies won't.

Tastes Like Me

Everybody has got different taste, whether it is in music, food, clothing or people. What if everybody
had the same taste in everything, would that be boring and weird? or would it just be easier to get to
know each other and make new friends? Well.. If I'm alone for to long I get depressed or just annoyed an
miss company, and if everyone were the same I would probably have shot someone about...when I was born, It's good to be different, I'ts good to not be as everyone else, when you're not like everybody else, you are you and YOU are perfect. Otherwise there's botox right? right?

Do it Different.

Wake up, get dressed, go to school, go to the gym, go home, watch tv and go to sleep. That is what is called a routine, more specific my daily routine if I didn't choose to not have a routine to follow every day. If was to do the same things every day I would firstly get bored, and It wouldn't surprise me if I got depressed as well, you need something new once and a while to keep going, keep life interesting. Don't tell your girlfriend that though, might not end up as you thought.. When you do something, what ever it is, try doing it different, it might make you happier.

Tone of Life

Music affects people in all kinds of ways, it has the power to make you sad, happy and even euforic.
But the power of music is just as great as the power of the muscisians. A good artist has in his hands
the lifes of more than a few people, often music can comfort he who is in vain and make his life less
misareble, though only for a moment but just as with paramedics, moments can save lifes and be crutial
stop a bleeding, a litteral bleeding or a bleeding of mind. Some say that music can change a persons
personality so far as making them violent and abusive, In some cases I suppose thats true, but if
that would be an accurate accusations I would now be a serial killer, I believe that the people who
become violent as a result of listening to a specific genre of music would've become violent anyway,
music only triggers it, and if it wasn't music, there would be something else to trigger their weak
psyche.

Poor With Family

There are one kind of people I respect more than others. A lot of people in the first world
are often very greedy and needy, even if they got everything they want they always want more,
why? Because they can. Of course poor people want new things as well, why wouldn't they? I mean the new
Iphone 5 is really great right? yeah.. right. Anyway when you're poor, you almost always keep the
things you have precious to you, like Gollum did, though being poor is NOT a way to keep alive
for 500 years, The Lord of the Rings was just a movie okay? And just as with things, they often treasure
friends and family more, I would rather be poor and have my family come closer, than rich and see
my family walk away in the distance.

The Dream Bubble

Dreams, amazing adventures about dragons, happy times with friends and going to school naked.
The hard trials that we endure when we are awake such as stress, school and relationships, nothing of that matters when you dream, to quote Albus Dumbledore from Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban, "In the dreamworld you can climb the highest mountain, or swim in the deepest waters", that  doesn't sound very bad does it? As far as you're not aquaphobic.. Anyway, I'm not the right guy to tell my expierences about dreaming since I haven't been able to remember a dream for years, but I suppose it is fun, apart from the naked in school part about it, why does it seem like everyone in the world sometime have dreamt that? I prefer nightmares, they're less confusing and easier to distinguish from reality.

Comic Dictator

Everyone knows Adolf Hitler as a former dictator and speaker, and thanks to the internet he is now also
known as a great artist, during his lifetime he sold over a thousand of his paintings. What would the world
be like if he had never fought in world war one, continued painting and never joined politics, would there have been another man with equal opinions doing what he did? If people hadn't critizised his art work maybe he hadn't become the "evil" man he was. He should've drawn cartoons instead, maybe he could have worked for Walt Disney. Instead of writing books about him being The Fuhrer he was drawing comics about really loud talking cats that wanted to terminate all rats from the world, the difference here would be that he probably would have a less successful career in drawing comics than in politics. Better watch out for comic illustators.

Technology - Our Parents Guidance.

That the older generation is having troubles with today's technology isn't a secret, and I often
wonder if my generation will have the same troubles understanding the technology of my children and grandchildren. I know this is a topic very much spoken about, therefor I'm not going to write an entire essay about, but I will share my thoughts on the subject. When my parents grew up the medial technology such as television and internet didn't exist, you could ring and send letters to people, not sure if everyone even remembers how to even write a letter.. but anyway, when they grew up all this new technology was invented and understanding how everything worked must have been harder than trying to milk a chicken, but as for my generation who have been raised with things like the internet and holograms and such, I don't think new technology will be as hard for us to understand as for our grandparents for example. We know the basics, and as long as there isn't invented anything incredibly difficult to understand, and that will be thanks to our parents and grandparents, they hoisted the sails so we could just float along on the trip, maybe do a bit of maintenance on the aft deck. Don't want to have the aft full of barnacles right?

St Patricks Day. Cheers To Leprechauns

Today is Saint Patrick's day, the Irish national day and is celebrated to the memory of Saint Patrick who in the 4th Century went around Ireland preaching about christianity using the shamrock to explain the trinity of God to the pagan people of Ireland, the trinity being The Father, The son and The Holy Ghost. Saint Patrick is seen as the leading introducer of Christianity in Ireland. Without writing to
much backstory let's get back to the present time. Traditional celebrations of Saint Patricks day is to wear green, though blue was the original colour associated with Saint Patrick was blue. My question there is. who's was the idea to change the colour form blue to green? I recon there wasn't some fashion designer going "Blue is to dull to represent a saint, why don't we take green instead? Green is fresh and people will think of grass, and we got a lot of that here in Ireland."
And before anyone complain about that sentence I know it had to do with the fact that the shamrock is green, but I don't think God the almighty and creator and father of all people really cares what colour your clothing is, which brings me to the next question I have which is for me as a man quite worrying tradition,
If you see someone, on Saint Patricks day who doesn't wear any green clothing it is said that should punch him as hard as you can between the legs, now I don't know if this refers to women as well
but for me this is a terrifying tradition, 6 months ago I didn't even know when Saint Patrick day was. Today I almost feel constrained to wear green, I don't want some stranger kicking me in the groin just because my choice of clothing.
For me it seems that the celebration of Saint Patrick's Day is just an excuse for people to drink a lot, wear funny costumes and fight eachother for no reasons, why not take up American wrestling instead?

Episode 1 "Confusing Television"

This is my thought of the day, I don't understand how some people can sit and watch the same tv show for hours and hours like it's just a really long movie. Today I was watching The Big Bang Theory just to kill some time waiting for my girlfriend, I watched an episode I've never seen before and I realized something, The Big Bang Theory is just like 2½ Men a series that you really don't have to follow to still be able to understand the content, so called a mutually independent series. Different from series like Lost or Prison Brake where missing an episode matters more, simply because you easily get confused of what has happened. I prefer series where I can just "pop in"occasionally without feeling confused, If I have to read about the previous episode in order to understand the content of the present episode, It completely ruins the series for me and I get no enjoyment in watching it. I'm a simple man, and I like Simple tv.

Recycling Sqiurrels

In todays civilized society being environmentally friendly is highly respected and often a goal to endeavor. Myself I always try not to damage nature by making better choices like turning of the lights when you leave a room and recycle garbage. Sometimes it seems pointless when your read about big companies polluting the atmosphere and all that and I think that as long humans walk this planet the planet itself will get worse and worse I read an interesting article about squirrels today, every year squirrels unknowingly replant millions of trees when they eat food like pinecones and nuts and such, the simply accidentally drop seeds that grow to become new trees. Humans though, we cut down entire forests in the creating of paper, houses, heating etc. I don't think it really matters how "environmentally friendly" we humans are, or at least try to be, as long as humans walk earth, the earth will die, leave the planet to the squirrels, they seem to know what they're doing.

Post 1 - A thinking toddler.

I've always been a great thinker, even since I was a toddler my mind have always been coloured by the weirdest kind of thoughts and imaginary things, and so one sunny.. or more like really cold snowy day my mind came up with this particular idea, why not share my mind with other people. So I started this blog in hope to make other people think and perhaps share their own thoughts and opinions. So now that you know the reason of the blog, I hope you find the content interesting as well.
